A while back I decided I wanted to try to get certified for Personal Training. Well, I was looking into it – and it appears there are a multitude of certifications. AFLCA seems to be easy enough to get, and is simply courses. But, to get your CPT (Certified Personal Training) you need two years of ‘formal post-secondary’ education. Therefore, I decided to look into what I’d need to join the UofC Kinesiology faculty…which is a lot. As stands, I would need to upgrade the following High School courses:
- Science 10
- English 30-1
- Pure Mathematics 10
- Pure Mathematics 20
- Pure Mathematics 30
- Biology 20
- Biology 30
- Chemistry 20
- Chemistry 30
All I’m saying is…that sucks. A lot. Looking on the bright side – at least I have English 10-1 & 20-1… 2/11 for the win! Then again…I don’t remember anything I learned in High School…it would be very, very interesting.
Oh, and it snowed last night. I hate snow. I hope it dies. That is all!
Update:
After talking to the girl who did all my Fitness Boot Camps, I looked into AFLCA/CanFit Pro a bit more – and it seems like that’s a helluva lot more attainable. Therefore, that’s my next thing I’m going to do. I am leaning more towards CanFit pro (because that’s what she had done) but I’m going to talk to a few friends first and see which I should do – they both are pretty close in the price range. & Then begins the personal training!
