Fuego!

The newest series I’m reading is titled “The Dresden Files”. It’s based on a Wizard who lives in Chicago. The book's written in modern day – which means 99.9% of people don’t believe in Wizards, yet Harry Dresden advertises himself as a professional wizard for hire as a private investigator and helps protect the populace ignorant of the existence of Magic. Pretty much…if you took Spike and Angel from the Joss Whedon universe and combined them…then gave them Wizard powers and a beat up Vee-Dub (VW Bug), you have Harry Dresden. And, we all know that I’m a large fan of anything Joss Whedon.

I’m also a fan of anything supernatural, and more so if the book isn’t rated PG13. Add in all the witty commentary and smooth writing style of Jim Butcher and I have a new top 5 favorite author. He also puts a picture in your head of the characters, and leaves an unclear line of who’s the bad guy, and who’s the good guy…and also makes an issue of being “too nice”, as in the case of someone like Michael aka The Fist of God (Seriously, dude is a bamf).

This weekend I managed to read books 3-10 in the series. I still have a few of the short-stories, and 1 more in the main plot line – and then I’m stuck waiting until next year for the newest book.

Anyways, I highly suggest this book. 10/10.
